Consulting services include (but are not limited to) updating evidence synthesis processes/plans, protocol development, methodology advisement, EBM tools, and standards or best practices.

Evidence Synthesis

  • Reference management refers to more that the Endnote file. It includes a naming convention, PDFs available outside of review software, and track of references included and excluded throughout the evidence synthesis process.

  • Access to a large portion of the full-text articles can be provided. There is no guarantee that I will be able to procure the full list of articles. However, I will work with your group to obtain as many as possible.

  • Not sure which tool to use or unfamiliar with how it works? I can help discover extraction tools, common extraction data points, quality assessment tools, and risk-of bias tools. I am also GRADE trained and am familiar with most assessment methods,

  • Whichever software you use, you will have to set inclusion/exclusion criteria, set different levels of review, and create data extraction templates. I can help with that.

Literature Searches

  • If you already have and information professional providing your literature search, I can provide a peer review to collaborate on the search strategy.

  • Once you have your PICO question(s), project scope, and have an idea of inclusion/exclusion criteria, I will work with you to create a systematic literature search based on key questions and inclusion/exclusion criteria.

  • These are similar to systematic reviews, but can include critical reviews, mapping reviews, umbrella reviews, meta-analysis, qualitative reviews, and mixed methods studies.

  • This includes the search string, list of databases searched, list of references (Endnote or Zotero) and the dates of the search.

Manuscript/Publication

  • Managing manuscript citations throughout the editing process can be difficult. This service provides correct in-text citation and a properly formatted reference section.

  • The methods section relates to the evidence synthesis and literature search. The best person to write this section is the one who did the literature search and understands the reporting requirements.

  • Whether I provided services during evidence synthesis or you want help with formatting, I can produce a clean and easy to read chart that meets all standards.

  • As an Information Professional, I can provide copyediting and reviews services for your manuscript to check for grammar, medical terminology spelling, coherent voice, proper citations, and formatting.

Research Support

  • Do you need help developing your PICO question? Is the PICO format not quite right for your research? Discover alternative ways to create your research question.

  • Not sure which methodology is right for your group or your type of review? Get help determining the right methodology for your project and the tools to streamline the process.

  • For when your not sure what literature is out there already. A scoping search and review of relevant organization/association publications can help.

  • There are multiple options for protocol registration and they all have slightly different requirements.
